I just got home last night from an interesting Thanksgiving.
I say interesting because Thanksgiving is an iteresting holiday as it is. We're supposed to "give thanks".
It was origionally in October when the settelers said, "Fucking... Well we got through one year on this God forsakin'..... Well, most of us anyway. Those who survived should be thankful. I know! let's have a celebration celebrating our survial and thanking the dead that it was them and not us."
Then Thanksgiving was a forgotten holiday until the 1860's when Lincoln tried to stop battling (actully it was used to supries confediret soljers when they thought there would be peace for a day). This tradtion of supriseing is kept on by having football on Thanksgiving. The tradition of Thanksgiving has kept on since on the other hand.
I dunno about most familys, but my Thanksgiving is also my Christmas. I get presents.
This years most significent was the Nintendo Wii that my grandmother got. Actully, she got three, which if you knew anything about the sales of said product, is impossible because they only let one Wii go per costumer.
It was amazing she got three.
I don't get to play it until the excitment runs off though (and I've already thrown out my arm from playing on it... dont ask).
I also got make-up. And advise on boys. I wanted to kill most of my relitives by the end.
My favorite of the gifts had to be the Thsaurus my granparents got me.
Yes, what a geek am I? I asked for a Thursaurs for Christmas. I didn't get my long awaited i-pod, but I got my Thusauras.
I'm glad I'm home all in all.
